PA Scale Refurbishes 26 Year-Old Scales at Pittsburgh International Airport
In 2017, (6) six of the original Pennsylvania Scale M64 industrial platform scales for baggage weighing at American Airlines (formerly US Airways) check-in stations in 1991 at Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT) were pulled off a scrap pile and sent to PA Scale’s Sales and Service facility in Saxonburg, PA. These scales, which lasted nearly 26 years, outlasted 2 generations of other brands of weighing equipment purchased by the airport. These original M64’s even outlasted several changes of PIT leadership over the years.
The refurbished industrial platform scales were approved by the Weights and Measures division of the National Institute of Standards and Technology and installed at PIT.
