Las Vegas’ McCarran Airport Installs PA Scale M64 Baggage Scales & Digital Weight Indicators
Lancaster, PA (May 15, 2017) – Pennsylvania Scale Company proudly announces that its American-made M64 Series baggage scales and digital weight indicators will be installed in several terminal gates at the McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas, Nevada.
McCarran, which welcomed nearly 50 million travelers during 2016, is the 26
th largest airport in the world and ranks 8
th in terms of aircraft movement. For this reason, installing reliable and accurate weighing equipment is critical for keeping operations running smoothly. McCarran has purchased earlier M64 models in the past and selected these baggage scales and digital weight indicators again due to their proven reputation for long life and simple serviceability. The M64 is designed to fit into most all counter and bag-well configurations.
Terminal 1 will receive the M64 displays to replace the existing problematic electronic platforms. Terminal 3, which is undergoing extensive renovation, will feature the M64 unit at all check-in locations. While not the largest installation of PA Scale baggage and check-in scales, it is considered one of the more prestigious. Other prominent airports have recently purchased these scales, including Miami International, JFK International, and Cancún International (Mexico).
“The M64 is one of the most reliable and time-proven products we offer, and many of our original designs are still in use today,” said Robert Woodward, VP and General Manager of PA Scale. “Some of our M64 units, such as those at Pittsburgh International, were installed nearly 25 years ago and continue to run faithfully with 100% serviceability.”
The M64 comes standard with a heavy duty stainless steel top plate, powder-coated finish, and Sustained Accuracy weighing 5,000 divisions in lbs. or kg. Capacity either 500 x 0.1 lbs. or 1,000 x 0.2 lbs.
